Storm Comin’

This summer has been filled with storms here in Edmonton.  It has certainly brought back many childhood memories.  Frankly, this is the weather I am used to.  In all respects.

Growing up in Washington, D.C., the days were hazy with humidity, and then the storms would roll in.  Of course, there was a big buildup before the storm hit.  The air would be dense and then tense as we would wait for the heavens to open up and pour out the cleansing water to the earth.

The Wailin’ Jennys are a great group from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and their song – Storm Comin’ – is inspirational for today.  When a storm is coming, don’t run for cover, because you can’t keep a storm from coming.  God is in control even of the storms.

This is true of the thunderstorms rolling in each day here, just as it is with life’s storms coming our way.
